Randonnée en Cinq Parties (2015)
Performance with Nicolas Lapointe
July 6-12, 2016, Rue De Castelnau, Montréal, QC
Randonnée en Cinq Parties is a site-specific, interactive sound performance that maps specific moments in time and space. From July 6 - 12, the artists walked around De Castelnau for four hours each day while manipulating portable, electronic sound devices. As they wandered in the neighbourhood, the artists created a variety of digital and analog sounds with their electronic instruments. Equipped with different types of sensors, the instruments responded to both the performers’ and the pedestrians’ bodies as well as the environment. In this way, each new combination of individuals in the environment produced different modulations of sound that were unique to each performance. The artists also changed the sounds each day in order to create new harmonies of sound.
